It’s a ….

BOY!!!

As of Tuesday, our family grew from four to a whopping FIVE.

Ryan joined us and is already an integral part of our family.   After pee’ing and poop’ing on me in front of everyone, he has left an indelible impression on his brothers.   Justin refuses to go near him for fear of getting poop’d on.  And Andrew can’t get enough of him.  I think that the breastfeeding process especially impressed and confused Andrew.    Why in the world would milk be coming out of mom’s boobs?  And why would Ryan be drinking it like that?

Ahhh… life is just getting settled.

For those of you who guessed his weight & height… Nicole was the closest.   She actually picked the exact same stats as I did.    Boy, 7lbs 4oz, 19.5 inches.   We were both only 1 oz off …. GOOD JOB!   Nicole, I will get you some chocolate as soon as I bust out of this joint.

Yes, I am still at the ‘Stanford Spa’.   LPCH is very much like going to a spa when you are birthing your third child.   You are no longer stressed with the in’s and out’s of having a child.  You know the drill, so people typically ignore you and skip the long lectures about breastfeeding and childcare.   Instead, you just sit around, and snuggle with your new baby.   I spend most of my time smelling him … because who doesn’t like that new baby sweet smell.    And when I am not cuddling my new main squeeze, I am ordering food  and people are bringing me special things to drink and eat.   I don’t have to do dishes.   I can leave towels on the floor, and people will bring me fresh ones.  There are no toys to pick up, or chores to do. My biggest job is to rest and drink enough so that I can feed this little sweetheart.   Meanwhile, everyone tells me how wonderful I look (I think it’s part of their job to do so).   They even offer massages… no I am not kidding.   CRAZY!

But that is not the best thing.    The best part about being here is all the one on one time I am getting with my newest son.    I love him already.   It’s fun to try to imagine the baby, boy and man he will turn out to be.   I already am making predictions about his personality, and I can’t wait to see if they come true or not.    It’s going to be a wonderful adventure.

It’s so fun to become mommy all over again.

I think we are on the way home, so you can stop by :) Hee Hee.

Huge congrats to you and the whole family!! I’m sure you look wonderful.

So glad you are enjoying your stay. I so appreciated exactly what you mention (except I didn’t get massages). I remember my husband kept wanting my mom to bring Keegan by, and he would make me walk around while she asked why I still look pregnant :)
